WAKE FOREST HOSTS THE DEMON DEACON CLASSIC
Wake Forest hosts College of Charleston, Davidson and Loyola Chicago in the Demon Deacon Classic this weekend.
The Deacs will play one match on Friday against Davidson at 7 p.m., and two matches on Saturday against College of Charleston at 1 p.m. and Loyola at 7:30 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Wake Forest dropped the season opener at Radford on Aug. 26, 3-2.
Six players made their debut for the Deacs, including Caroline Rassenfoss who recorded 16 kills and five assists and Bailey Shurbet, who tallied 41 assists.
Junior Caroline Wolf recorded a career-high four aces in the match, doubling her previous career-high.
SERIES NOTES
Wake Forest will play College of Charleston for the first time in program history on Saturday.
The Deacs hold a 1-0 advantage over Loyola Chicago after defeating them in the Rambler Challenge on Aug. 28, 2015.
The Demon Deacons lead the Davidson Wildcats 7-1 in the all-time series. Four of those wins have been decided in three sets.
NEXT UP
The Deacs will travel to Statesboro, Georgia to compete in the SpringHill Suites Invitational.
Wake Forest will play South Carolina and Georgia Southern on Friday, Sept. 9 at 10:00 a.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, and Buffalo at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
