Wake Forest Sweeps Buffalo, 3-0

STATESBORO, Ga. -- Wake Forest swept the Buffalo Bulls in three sets Saturday at the SpringHill Suites Invitational in Statesboro, Georgia.
The first set proved to be the hardest of the match for the Demon Deacons (2-5). Despite jumping to an early lead, Buffalo (0-9) would not back down. The Bulls rallied up to take a five- point lead mid-set but the Deacs kept swinging, owning a .344 percentage on the match. Senior Hanna Lee once again made the match her own, recording four kills, a .571 hitting percentage, two blocks and a service ace. The Deacs took the first set, 25-21.
The second set was controlled by Wake Forest, who scored five unanswered points to start the set. Junior Kylie Long recorded five of her 12 total kills in the set. Long played a near-perfect game, recording only three attack errors for a .500 hitting percentage. The Deacs easily took the 25-13 set win.
The third, and final, set was once again dominated by the Deacs as Katie Moore recorded five kills and two blocks in the set. Moore totaled 10 kills on the match and swung for .474 hitting percentage. The Deacs wrapped up the match with a 25-19 set three victory.
The Demon Deacons recorded their best attack percentage of the season, totaling 46 kills on 14 errors for a .344 percentage.
Wake Forest returns home to face Middle Tennessee State at LJVM Coliseum on Wednesday. The Deacs then host the Black and Gold Invitational Sept. 16-17 which features High Point, UNC-Charlotte and Wofford.
