Wake Forest Returns Home
• The Deacs return home for a four-game stay in which they will face Davidson, ACC foes Syracuse and Louisville and Cal.
• Wake Forest is 1-1 at home this season, splitting their two games in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge with Iowa (L, 2-1) and Michigan (W, 2-0). Last season the Deacs went 8-2 at home.

Last Time Out
• Wake Forest fell, 4-1, in the conference opener at North Carolina on Sept. 10. Nicola Pluta scored the lone goal for the Deacs with an assist from Madi Julius. Pluta is now tied with teammate Jule Grashoff with four goals this season. The assist from Madi Julius was her first of the season and fifth of her career.

Demon Deacon Storylines
• The Deacs are ranked 11th in the NFHCA poll, a drop from number seven last week. The team finished the 2015 season ranked No. 7. Every ACC team has been ranked in 37 straight NFHCA Polls, a streak dating to October of 2012.
• The Deacs are 2-1 on the road this season, winning both games (Ohio State and Indiana) in the Buckeye Invitational last weekend and dropping the conference opener to North Carolina. Wake Forest finished 5-1 on the road last year.
Nicola Pluta has a three-game scoring streak.

Scouting the Wildcats
• The Wildcats, 1-3 went 8-11 last season and returned 17 players, including seniors Becca Jones, Anne Frederico and Katherine English, who each recorded three goals last season.
• The Wildcats are coming off of a Sunday loss to Longwood, 4-3. Captain Anne Frederico scored her team-leading third goal of the season in the affiar as well as goals from senior Becca Jones and junior Paige Albert.

•The Deacs take on Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Kentner Stadium at 1 p.m.
•The game is the annual Maria Whitehead event, which celebrates the life of former field hockey player Maria Whitehead, who passed away from melanoma in 2006.
