Three Deacs Win at Duke Invite

DURHAM, N.C. -- Three Demon Deacons advanced into the winner's bracket in the opening round of Duke's James Bonk Invite on Friday.
In the white bracket, Christian Seraphim and newcomer Sean Hill each earned opening-round wins.
Seraphim knocked off Duke's Vincent Lin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, while Hill cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Florida's David Sarkissov.
Maksim Kan earned Wake Forest's third singles victory of the day, battling back to knock off Charlotte's Oriol Puig Forne, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1, in the blue bracket.
Another newcomer, Charlie Parry, dropped his opening-round matchup. North Carolina's Chad Hoskins claimed a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
In the Deacons' only doubles contest of the day, Kan and Hill fell to Charlotte's Puig Forne and Alejandro Garcia. A score was not immediately available.
Competition in Durham continues on Saturday. Other Deacons will compete in qualifying at the Columbus Challenger.
