WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - After Milan Quinn forced overtime with a free throw with 2.1 seconds remaining, Wake Forest used a 7-0 run in overtime to defeat Georgia Tech 70-65 inside the LJVM Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Competing in their first overtime game since Dec. 7, 2014, the Deacs (12-7, 3-3) held the Yellow Jackets (13-6, 2-4) to just two points in the overtime frame and closed the game out by scoring the game's final seven points to take their first overtime victory since Feb. 25, 2013.

Elisa Penna led Wake Forest with 18 points while Ariel Stephenson added with 17. Quinn recorded her third-straight double-double, and eighth of the season, with 11 points and 11 rebounds while Amber Campbell rounded out the double figure scoring with 11 points as well.

Alex Sharp matched a career-high with 11 rebounds while Campbell's four assists also matched a career-high.

Georgia Tech's Francesca Pan hit a triple to open the scoring, giving the Yellow Jackets a lead that they would carry for over 18 minutes of the first half. The Yellow Jackets continued to build their advantage to nine after holding the Deacs to a 26.7 percent shooting in the first quarter. However, Wake Forest continued to fight, as the Deacs used a 9-0 run to take a one-point lead with 1:21 remaining in the half. Both teams battled in the final minute, but it was Georgia Tech who took a 32-31 lead to the locker room.

Wake Forest shot a blistering 64.3 percent from the field in the third quarter to take a six-point lead into the final frame, but Georgia Tech would go on a 6-0 run early in the fourth quarter to force the Deacs into a timeout with just over six minutes remaining in the contest. The teams traded possessions down the stretch until Quinn's free throw forced the overtime.

In the overtime period, the Deacs dominated the Yellow Jackets, 7-2, to collect their second-straight ACC victory.

The Demon Deacons return to action Jan. 26 against Boston College. Tip-off at the LJVM Coliseum is set for 7 p.m.
