The Matchups:
- Wake Forest continues its season-long four-match road trip with matchups at Clemson and Georgia Tech over the weekend.
- The Deacs get started on Friday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. with a matchup against the Tigers. Then, on Sunday, Oct. 29, the team makes the trip to Atlanta to battle the Yellow Jackets at 1 p.m. The match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out:
- The Demon Deacons fell, 3-0, at Virginia Tech on Friday, Oct. 20 in Blacksburg.
- However, on Sunday, Oct. 22, the Deacs snapped its season-long five-match losing streak by outlasting Virginia, 3-2, in a thriling five-set victory.
Wake Forest Storylines:
- Wake Forest sits at 11-11 (3-7 ACC) so far this season. The team needs just two more conference wins to match last season's total of five.
- Senior outside hitter Kylie Long had career match on Oct. 22 against Virginia. Long delivered a career-high 26 kills, including six in the final set, to lead the Deacs past the Cavaliers.
- Senior libero Caroline Wolf continues to move up the Demon Deacon record books. In the team's match against Syracuse on Oct. 1, Wolf moved into second place in program history in career digs. She needs just 91 more to tie the school record.
- The Deacs have been strong defensively in 2017. They are tied for fourth in the ACC in opponents hitting percentage (.199) and allow the third fewest assists per set in the league (10.75).
Scouting the Opponents:
- The Tigers are under the direction of first-year head coach Michaela Franklin. The team sits at 1-9 in league play, with their lone win being a 3-0 home victory over Boston College on Friday, Oct. 20.
- The Yellow Jackets are 10-11 on the season, but have a 5-5 mark in ACC competition. Georgia Tech has won three of its last four matches, including two straight. The team ranks fifth in the ACC, averaging 14.18 digs per set.
Series History:
- Clemson has taken 30 of the 45 all-time meetings between the teams.
- However, the Demon Deacons have won four straight, including a 3-1 win at LJVM Coliseum earlier this season.
- Wake Forest has lost 33 of the 44 matchups against the Yellow Jackets.
- Georgia Tech has won two in a row in the series, while the Deacs last won in Atlanta on Oct. 20, 2013.
Looking Ahead:
- The Demon Deacons return home for a three-match homestand, beginning Friday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. against Louisville. The Deacs will host Notre Dame on Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. and conclude the homestand against Duke on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
