CLEMSON, S.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team fell, 3-0, at Clemson on Friday night at Jervey Gym.

The Demon Deacons (11-12, 3-8 ACC) let the first set slip away before allowing the Tigers (7-16, 2-9 ACC) to control play in the second and third sets and take the match, 3-0.

One match after setting a career-high in kills, senior Kylie Long led the Deacs with eight kills. Freshman setter Madeline Holt assisted on 21 of the team's 26 kills. Caroline Rassenfoss added two service aces while Caroline Wolf paced the team with 12 digs.

The first set was closely contested, with neither team able to separate late. Wake Forest led, 23-21, but lost the final four points to give Clemson a 1-0 lead after one. Long and Caroline Kuhn added three kills each.

The Tigers built an early 8-4 lead in the second, forcing a Demon Deacon timeout. After a short rally by the Deacs, Clemson again began to inch away, taking a 22-15 lead. However, Wake Forest answered with another run to close the gap to 23-20 before the Tigers closed out the set at 25-21.

Reeling from their 2-0 deficit, the Deacs played the Tigers close to begin the third. With the score tied at 14 apiece, Clemson won six of the next seven points to take command of the set and eventually take the match, 3-0.

Overall, Clemson held a .120 to .044 hitting percentage edge over Wake Forest. The Tigers also held significant advantages in digs (39-27) and kills (35-26).

Up next, the Demon Deacons conclude their four-match road trip this Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. against Georgia Tech. The match will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
