Deacs Head To ITA National Team Indoor Championship
Wake Forest travels to Charlottesville, Va., for the 2017 ITA National Men's Team Indoor Championship, hosted by the University of Virginia. The 16-team tournament will begin on Friday, Feb. 17, and run through Monday, Feb. 20.
Fifteen teams qualified for the event by winning their respective Kick-Off Weekend four-team regional, while Virginia earned an automatic bid as the host site. Twelve of the 15 No. 1 seeds, including Wake Forest, from the Kick-Off Weekend advanced to the National Team Indoor Championship.
The Demon Deacons earned their bid, the No. 2 seed overall, by defeating Nebraska and Georgia State on Jan. 27-28 at the Wake Forest regional.
In the opening round of the single-elimination tournament, the Deacs will face No. 15 seed Mississippi State at 12 p.m. Mississippi State earned its bid to the tournament with victories over Florida State and Iowa at the Texas Tech regional.
Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons hit the road for the first time this season, holding off No. 12 Oklahoma State, 4-3, on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Stillwater.
Wake Forest claimed the doubles point with victories on courts one and three and won singles matches on the top three courts to secure the victory.
Skander Mansouri was named the ACC Player of the Week for the second time this season, as the junior collected a pair of victories to leads the Deacs past the Cowboys.
Chrysochos Claims ITA All-American Championship
Sophomore Petros Chrysochos became Wake Forest's first-ever ITA All-American Champion on Monday, Oct. 10, when he defeated Ohio State's Hugo Di Feo in the championship, 6-4, 6-0.
Demon Deacon Duo Win National Indoor Doubles Title
Christian Seraphim and Skander Mansouri claimed Wake Forest's second national title of the fall campaign, as the duo paired up to claim the doubles title at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships on Sunday, Nov. 6.
Deacs In The Rankings
Wake Forest remain the No. 2-ranked team in the nation in the latest ITA rankings release on Wednesday, Feb. 8, the best highest in program history.
Petros Chrysochos remains the top-ranked player in the country. He is joined by Skander Mansouri, who fell to 10th, and Christian Seraphim, who slid to 26th.
On the doubles side, Mansouri and Christian Seraphim remain No. 1 in the country.

Wake Forest remain on the road to take on Tennessee on Saturday, Feb. 25. First serve in Knoxville is set for 11 a.m.
