LOS CABOS, Mexico – The Wake Forest men's golf team continued play Monday at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate with the second round at the Querencia Golf Club. The Demon Deacons shot 11-over during a windy second round and are in fifth place at 4-over through 36 holes.

Oklahoma State is the second round leader at 16-under, followed by Texas at 13-under. Baylor is in third place at 4-under, Washington is fourth at even par, four shots ahead of the fifth-place Demon Deacons. Will Zalatoris and Paul McBride are in the top 20 of the individual leaderboard after the second round. Zalatoris is T-12th at 3-under after shooting an even par 71 on Monday. McBride, who had the 18-hole lead after shooting 65 on Sunday, is T-17th at 1-under after a second round 76.

Lee Detmer is 1-over after two rounds after shooting 73 on Monday. Eric Bae (7-over) and Cameron Young (8-over) round out the Demon Deacon lineup.

"I have to hand it to these young men as they battled until the last putt," said head coach Jerry Haas. "This course is a lot about where you start and we will start better tomorrow. We still have a ton to play for tomorrow and I know the Deacs will fight hard."

The Querencia Cabo Collegiate concludes Tuesday at the Querencia Golf Club.
