WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field programs combined for 12 top-10 finishes at the Camel City Invitational Feb. 3 & 4 at the JDL Fast Track.

Max Adams placed fourth in the men's shot put with a best throw of 15.45m (50' 8.25"), his second top-five finish of the season.

On the track, Robert Heppenstall finished seventh in the elite men's Camel City Mile race with a time of 4:08.87. Simon Holden finished ninth in the event with a time of 4:11.95, his best mile time this season.

Hunter Roberts placed second in the 60m Hurdles with a personal best of 8.54. Roberts had qualified earlier in the day after placing eighth in the prelims with a time of 8.70.

Kathryn Lazarchick represented the Deacs in the elite women's Camel City Mile race. Lazarchick finished 10th with a final time of 4:45.39, just two seconds shy of a personal best.

Casidy Callahan placed eighth in the women's shot put with a best throw of 12.48m (40' 11.5") while teammate Andrea Vahoua finished ninth with a throw of 12.40 (40' 8.25").

On the first day of competition, the Deacs finished with six top-10 finishes, five of which came from the field from throwers Charlie Ionata, Kyle Johnson, Alva Hicks, Jessica Molina and Andrea Vahoua. Also on the first day, Roberts took sixth in 60m Hurdles to qualify for prelims while Sarah Fahmy finished 13th in the mile and Kathryn Kenwood finished 14th in the 3,000m Run.

The Demon Deacons will compete in the JDL Team Challenge in Winston-Salem on Thursday, Feb. 9. After that, the Deacs will head north to Lynchburg, Va. for the Liberty Invitational Feb. 10 and 11.
