PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team continued play Friday at the 2017 ACC Championship with the second round at The Reserve Golf Club. A pair of Demon Deacons are in the individual top five and within two shots of the lead heading into the final round.

Jennifer Kupcho shot a 1-under 71 on Friday to move up to third place at 3-under par, one shot behind the co-leaders. Sierra Sims had a 1-over 73 to end the day at 2-under for the tournament, tied for fourth place. Both players finished tied for second at last year's ACC Championship.

"Sierra and Jennifer kept playing very well today," said head coach Dianne Dailey. "They are right there in contention, which was the goal heading into the final round. Everybody made an improvement today. Our players have shown a lot of heart on the course and the scores aren't really indicative of how hard they are trying. I am proud of them and look forward to seeing what they can do tomorrow."

As a team, the Demon Deacons remained in 12th place after shooting 20-over on Friday to end the second round at 44-over for the tournament. Erica Herr had a second round 78 and Anna Wears posted a round of 86 on Friday. Monica Schumacher rounded out the lineup with a second round 95.

The tournament concludes Saturday at The Reserve Golf Club.
