ATHENS, GA. – Senior Kimmy Guerin's Wake Forest career came to an end on Wednesday, May 24, as she fell in the opening round of the NCAA Singles Championship in Athens, Georgia.

Ranked 60th in the country entering the championship, Guerin drew Georgia's Ellen Perez in the opening round. The 12th-ranked, and the No. 9-16 seed in the tournament, topped Guerin by a 6-3, 6-3 margin to move onto the second round of the tournament.

Guerin ends her season with a 25-13 record in singles. For her career, Guerin won 84 career singles matches and 76 career doubles matches, becoming the first player in seven years to amass 150 or more career victories. A three-time All-ACC honoree, Guerin climbed as high as No. 33 in the singles rankings this year and helped the Demon Deacons to their second-straight NCAA Championship appearance.
