The Matchup
• The Demon Deacons will spend the rest of September on the road, with games at Syracuse, Boston College and Notre Dame.
• Up first, Wake Forest will take on Syracuse at the SU Soccer Stadium in Syracuse, New York. The match is set for 7 p.m. on Sept. 29 and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons defeated Pitt, 2-0, in Spry Stadium on Sept. 15. It was their victory in an ACC opener since a 1-0 victory over NC State on Sept. 21, 2014.
• Sofia Rossi scored the game-winning goal in the 56th minute, assisted by Vicky Krug, while Maddie Huster added an insurance goal in the 70th minute.
• Lindsay Preston and Nonie Frishette combined for the Deacs' sixth shutout of the season, a mark that leads the conference.
Wake Forest Storylines
• Wake Forest women's soccer is nationally ranked for the first time since 2014 when the team began the season ranked No. 14 by Soccer America and No. 21 by the NSCAA. Currently, the Demon Deacons are ranked No. 17 by Soccer America and No. 18 by TopDrawerSoccer and the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Deacs also debuted at No. 15 in the NCAA RPI this week.
• The Demon Deacons' offense is among the best in the conference. Through nine games, the Deacs lead the ACC with 63 points (21g, 21a). The 21 assists lead the league while the goals are tied for the lead.
• Wake Forest finished the 2016 slate with seven shutouts. The Demon Deacons have recorded six shutouts through nine games this season.
Scouting the Orange
• The Demon Deacons hold a 3-1-1 all-time series advantage over the Orange, though Syracuse holds a slight 1-0-0 advantage at the SU Soccer Stadium.
• In the last meeting between the teams, the Deacs defeated Syracuse, 3-2, in double overtime on Oct. 20, 2016. Sarah Teegarden gave the Deacs the victory on a free kick in the 108th minute.
• The Orange hold a 5-2-1 record this season. They have yet to play a conference game as their first ACC match against Miami was postponed due to effects from Hurricane Irma. The Orange most recently defeated Harvard, 1-0, on Sept. 10.
• Sophomore Sydney Brackett leads the Orange with four goals while freshman Kate Donovan has three. Courtney Brosnan has spent over 680 minutes in goal for the Orange and owns a 0.79 goals against average.

• After the contest against Syracuse, the Deacs will face Boston College on Sept. 24 at 1 p.m. The Deacs wrap-up their three-game road trip at Notre Dame on Sept. 29 and will return to Spry Stadium on Oct. 5 to take on Virginia Tech.
