
Deacs Topped by Boston College, 1-0

NEWTON, Mass. -Wake Forest women's soccer dropped a 1-0 decision to Boston College at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Demon Deacons (8-2-1, 2-1-0 ACC) had a late surge, recording three shots in the final minutes but were unable to score.
The Eagles (8-4-0, 2-1-0 ACC) recorded their game-winning goal in the 74th minute when Olivia Vaughn went one-on-one with Lindsay Preston to find the back of the net.
Preston recorded a season-high six saves in the contest.
The Eagles out-shot the Deacs, 16-10, including a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. The sixteen shots were the most allowed by the Demon Deacons this season.
Bayley Feist and Sofia Rossi led the offensive effort with three shots and one shot on goal each. Claudia Day also recorded a shot on target.
Up next, the Demon Deacons travel to South Bend, Indiana on Sept. 29 to take on Notre Dame. The match is set for 5 p.m.
