Deacs Face Panthers in ACC Road Opener
The Wake Forest women's basketball hits the road for its first ACC road game on Thursday, Jan. 4, as the Demon Deacons travel north to take on Pittsburgh.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
The Demon Deacons' six-game winning streak was snapped on Sunday, Dec. 31, as Wake Forest fell at home to No. 2/2 Notre Dame in the Deacs' ACC opener.
Elisa Penna matched a career-high with 24 points while Amber Campbell scored 18 points for the second consecutive game.
Alex Sharp hauled in a game-high 12 rebounds, accounting for 42.8 percent of the Demon Deacon rebounds in the game (28 total).
Wake Forest Storylines
Senior Amber Campbell continues her rise up the Wake Forest scoring charts as she currently ranks 11th all-time in program history with 1,329 career points.
The Deacs have outrebounded their opponent 9-of-14 games to start the season and rank first in the league and 17th nationally with 16 offensive rebounds per game. Their 43 rebounds per game are 35th-best in the country.
Alex Sharp to continues to stuff the stat sheet for the Demon Deacons, leading the team in rebounding (8.1) and ranking fourth in scoring (9.4). In addition to to nearly averaging a double-double, Sharp leads the team in assists with 3.6 per game.
The team tied a program record with 12 blocks against Appalachian State on Dec. 7. Wake Forest's 72 total blocks are fourth-best in the ACC and 19th in the country.
Scouting The Opponent
Pitt comes into Thursday's contest with an identical 8-6, 0-1 (ACC) record following an ACC opening loss to Virginia and a nonconference victory over Chicago State this past weekend.
Yacine Diop leads the offensive attack (14.1 ppg) while ranking second with 6.1 rpg.

The Deacs conclude a quick two-game roadtrip as the team travels south to take on Miami on Sunday, Jan. 7.
