Demon Deacons continue three-game homestand on Oct. 18

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 loss to Louisville Friday night at Spry Stadium. The Demon Deacons drop to 6-7-1 overall and 2-5-0 in the ACC with the loss, while the Cardinals improve to 11-3-0 and 5-2-0 in the conference.
The first half had few chances, but Louisville was able to take advantage of one in the 24th minute. Emina Ekic dribbled into the box and slotted home a Cardinal goal that was the only tally for the opening 45 minutes.
Louisville doubled the lead in the 53rd minute as Callie McKinney headed in a long free kick from Gabrielle Vincent.
Overall, Louisville outshot Wake Forest 11-4 and had a 5-4 corner kick advantage. Nonie Frishette made four saves for the Demon Deacons, while Gabrielle Kouzelos made two saves in net for the Cardinals.
The Demon Deacons continue their three-game homestand on October 18 as they host Clemson. Game time at Spry Stadium is 7 p.m.
