The Matchup
• The top-ranked Demon Deacons play in their regular season road finale at No. 6 Virginia on Saturday at 1 p.m. on ACC Network Extra. Wake Forest can clinch a fourth-straight ACC Atlantic Division title with a victory.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest closed out its regular season non-conference slate undefeated at 9-0-0 with a 2-0 shutout win at South Carolina on Tuesday.
• Alistair Johnston scored a game-winner for the second-straight game off an Isaiah Parente assist in the 36th minute.
• Tater Rennhack scored the first goal of his collegiate career in the 78th minute, scoring off an assist from Aristotle Zarris.
• Andreu Cases Mundet and Dominic Peters combined for the shutout. Peters made one save in his first collegiate appearance.
Quick Kicks
• Wake Forest was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and moved up to No. 1 in the first weekly poll. The Deacs have been ranked in the top five in 29 consecutive polls dating back to the middle of the 2016 season - 22 more weeks than any other program (Indiana/North Carolina - 7).
• The Deacs are once again one of the top teams in the country. Wake Forest has the second-highest winning percentage in the nation (Saint Mary's), and is first nationally with 42 goals.
• Wake Forest has a lot of new faces after sending seven into the MLS ranks following the 2017 season. Still, the Deacs brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, headlined by top-50 recruits Isaiah Parente, Kyle Holcomb, Koby Carr and Aristotle Zarris.
• Since the start of the Bobby Muuss era in 2015, Wake Forest has a 69-9-7 overall record. That win total is the most of any Division I program.
Opponent & Series History
• Virginia leads the all-time series over Wake Forest, 36-12-8; however, the Deacs have been more successful in recent years. Wake Forest is undefeated in the last three meetings, including edging UVA in penalties in last year's ACC Championship game. Neither side has put together a winning streak of more than two games since the Cavaliers did so from 2002-05.
• Virginia enters the game with a 9-1-2 overall record, including 3-1-1 in ACC play. The Cavaliers rebounded from a 2-0 loss to No. 23 Duke with three-straight wins over No. 5 Denver, Clemson and Radford.
• The Cavaliers have the No. 4 defense in the country, conceding 0.482 goals per game. Colin Shutler has led the way with seven shutouts and an .857 save percentage in goal.
• Offensively, Cabrel Happi Kamseu (5g, 0a), Daryl Dike (5g, 0a) and Nathaniel Crofts (2g, 6a) lead the Cavaliers with 10 points each.
