Chrysochos Advances at ITA National Fall Championships

Petros Chrysochos moves on to the Round of 16 at the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships

SURPRISE, Ariz. – Petros Chrysochos continued his run in the main draw of the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, winning his Round of 32 match on Thursday, Nov. 8.
Chrysochos, the top seed in the field and top-ranked player nationally, battled No. 100 Andy Andrade of Florida. After splitting the first two sets, Chrysochos found himself on a 3-0 deficit before claiming six consecutive games to take the third set and the match, 6-2, 5-7, 6-3.
Elsewhere, Bar Botzer and Rrezart Cungu began competition in the consolation draw of the tournament. Botzer, ranked 91st nationally, upset 68th-ranked Martin Joyce of Ohio State in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Cungu's run in Arizona came to an end with a 4-6, 6-2, 1-6 defeat to Emanuel Coste of Oregon.
Chrysochos and Botzer will continue competition Friday, with two rounds of play scheduled for each individual.
