The Matchup
• The Demon Deacons open NCAA Tournament competition by hosting Big Ten foe Ohio State on Friday night at 7 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
• Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for youth and seniors, and $3 for college students. The first 100 Wake Forest students to show their student ID will receive free admission courtesy of Screamin' Demons.

Last Time Out
• Wake Forest has had 14 days off since ending the regular season with a 1-0 loss at No. 3 North Carolina on Oct. 25.
• The game was a back-and-forth affair throughout, but the Tar Heels broke through in the 74th minute with a goal from Madison Schultz.
• Nonie Frishette made three saves in between the posts to keep the Deacs in the game.

Quick Kicks
• The Demon Deacons are making their 20th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament, including for the second-straight season. Last year, the Deacs advanced past Georgetown on penalty kicks in the opening round before falling to Penn State in the second round.
• Out of Wake Forest's 17 opponents this year, 12 of them qualified for the NCAA Championship, including No. 1 seeds North Carolina and Florida State, No. 2 seed Tennessee, No. 3 seeds South Carolina and Virginia, and No. 4 seeds Boston College and Duke. The ACC had a record 10 teams receive bids this year.
• Wake Forest head coach Tony da Luz picked up the 300th win of his head coaching career as the Deacons handed No. 11 Boston College its first loss of the year in overtime, 2-1, on Sept. 27.

Scouting The Buckeyes
• Ohio State enters the NCAA Championship with a 9-5-4 overall record, and is unbeaten over its last six games. The Buckeyes have also had an extended break since falling to Nebraska in penalties in the Big Ten Tournament on Oct. 28.
• The Buckeyes played three ACC teams in the regular season, beating Notre Dame and falling to Duke and North Carolina.
• Izzy Rodriguez leads the team in goals (four) and points (10), while Kayla Fischer is tied with four goals. Between the posts, Devon Kerr has started every game and has a 0.77 GAA and .827 save percentage, earning Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year honors.

Series History
• Wake Forest and Ohio State have only met once previously, a 2-1 Demon Deacon victory in overtime on Sept. 1, 2000.

• The winner of this game will play the winner of No. 2 seed West Virginia and Radford on Nov. 16.
