RALEIGH, N.C. -- Cole McNamee and Michael Ludowig hit their first-career homers, but No. 5 NC State claimed the series finale, 10-6, at Doak Field on Sunday afternoon.

McNamee finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs while Ludowig was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Fellow freshmen Bobby Seymour and DJ Poteet also had two hits apiece to lead the Demon Deacons (22-29, 11-16 ACC).

Josh McLain and Brett Kinneman had three RBIs apiece to lead the Wolfpack (39-12, 18-9 ACC), who scored in six of their eight offensive innings.

After Kinneman hit a two-run double for NC State in the bottom of the first, Wake Forest tied it in the second on a McNamee RBI groundout and Ludowig RBI single.

The Wolfpack took a 3-2 lead with a Stephen Pitarra RBI double in the bottom of the inning before the Deacs took their first lead in the third.

Following a run-scoring wild pitch which tied the game, McNamee drilled a ball over the wall in left-center to put Wake Forest ahead, 5-3.

NC State answered by scoring the next seven runs of the game to pull away. A McLain two-run triple in the sixth put the Wolfpack ahead for good, and they added to the lead in the sixth, seventh and eighth before Ludowig hit an opposite-field homer in the ninth.

Connor Centala (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless inning in relief for NC State, while Kent Klyman tossed the final 3.0 innings for his fourth save. Tyler Witt (2-4) took the loss for the Deacs after starter Colin Peluse took a no decision. Peluse struck out five in 5.0 innings, but surrendered four runs on five hits and two walks.

Rayne Supple and Antonio Menendez recorded scoreless outings of the bullpen.

Walks were once again an issue for the Deacs, who allowed nine free passes plus a hit-by-pitch Sunday, while drawing just one offensively. Six of the 10 runs scored by NC State reached base via walk or HBP.

Wake Forest is back in action Tuesday, playing host to High Point at 6 p.m.
