Heppenstall Earns Sixth All-America Honor at NCAA Championship

EUGENE, Ore. -- Wake Forest men's track and field junior Robert Heppenstall finished eighth the men's 800m national final to earn his sixth-career First Team All-America honor on Friday at the NCAA Championship.
Heppenstall is now a three-time First Team All-American in the outdoor 800m after finishing fourth last year and eighth as a freshman in 2016. He is also a three-time All-American in the indoor 800m.
Despite wet weather, he finished with a season-best time of 1:47.14. Isaiah Harris of Penn State claimed the title with a time of 1:44.76.
Heppenstall automatically qualified for the final after finishing second in his semifinal heat on Wednesday with a time of 1:47.40.
