The Matchup
• Wake Forest opens the 2018 regular season at the Hoosier Challenge Cup in Bloomington, Indiana.
• The Demon Deacons face Indiana on Friday, Aug. 17 and Northwestern on Sunday, Aug. 19.
• The Indiana vs. Wake Forest game will be streamed on BTN Plus.

• The Demon Deacons return 18 players from the 2017 roster this season, including four of their top-five scorers from a season ago in Bayley Feist, Hannah Betfort, Estelle Laurier and Sofia Rossi..
• The Deacs welcome nine freshmen and grad transfer Mariah Lee to the squad in 2018.
• Wake Forest has one of the toughest schedules in the nation this season. The team will face 10 teams that debuted in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Top 25 list as well as 13 squads that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 2017, including two College Cup teams in South Carolina and Duke.
Scouting the Hoosiers
• The Indiana Hoosiers went 6-9-4 a season ago, including a 2-6-3 mark in Big Ten play.
• Indiana returns redshirt senior Mykayla Brown, the active team leader in goals scored, and 2017 leading scorer senior Maya Piper.
• The Hoosiers also have a veteran in goal in sophomore Bethany Kopel, who started all 19 games and recorded 5 shutouts a season ago.
• This will be the first-ever meeting between the teams.
Scouting the Wildcats
• The Wildcats went 12-8-3 last season with a 7-3-1 conference mark. The team received votes in the preseason United Soccer Coaches poll.
• Brenna Lovera led the way on the pitch last season with four goals and returns for her senior season this year.
• The Wildcats lost keeper Lauren Clem, who had all of the decisions for the Wildcats last season. Clem earned a 0.80 GAA with 11 shutouts.
• This will be the first-ever meeting between the teams.
