Deacs Continue Play at Louisville Cardinal Challenge

Wake Forest in fifth place after 36 holes of opening event of the season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Wake Forest men's golf team continued play Saturday at its first event of the season with second round play at the Louisville Cardinal Challenge. The Demon Deacons shot 10-over on Saturday at the UofL Golf Club to finish the day in fifth place at 6-under par.
A day after the Demon Deacons set a school record with a first round 268, no Wake Forest player in the lineup was able to break par in round two. Eugenio Chacarra led the group with a 1-over 72, while Cameron Young and Eric Bae each shot a 2-over 73.
Freshman Alex Fitzpatrick, playing as an individual, shot a 5-under 66 to tie for the low round of the day. He is T-5th on the individual leaderboard at 7-under through 36 holes.
The Louisville Cardinal Challenge concludes Sunday at the UofL Golf Club.
