A 7-yard touchdown catch from Chase Claypool and a 1-yard rushing touchdown from Armstrong helped push Notre Dame to a 42-13 lead midway through the third quarter. After another Book rushing touchdown for the Fighting Irish, Wake Forest scored a touchdown courtesy of Hinton as the score stood 49-20 in favor of Notre Dame heading into the fourth quarter.
