WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's tennis team wrapped up competition in the first weekend of competition. Petros Chrysochos and Melios Efstathiou were the lone Deacs in action, concluding play at the Battle in the Bay tournament in San Francisco and the UVA Masters event in Charlottesville, respectively.

At the Battle in the Bay, Chrysochos' run came to an end in the semifinals against fourth-seeded and 22nd-ranked Jan Zielinski of Georgia. Chrysochos battled in both sets, but fell short 7-5, 6-4.

Efstathiou's impressive Demon Deacon debut ended on a high note. After falling into the consolation round, the freshman capped his weekend with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Adam Ambrozy of Columbia. Efstathiou ended his weekend 3-1, including a win over a ranked opponent.

Wake Forest returns to action Sept. 29-Oct. 8 at the ITA All-American Championships, held annually in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
