Louisville head coach Chris Mack

Opening Statement...
"During the first thirty minutes of the game I thought our guys really came to play. Obviously when you play a team that hasn't had much success, you worry about your own team not coming out and playing hard. I think from the beginning they did a great job keeping the ball out of the lane and our offense was really moving the ball; we shot the ball with a lot of confidence. The second half became very choppy. I thought our effort on the defensive side was not very good and it allowed for Wake to be a lot choppier. I also I didn't really like how we ended the last few minutes of the game. I feel fortunate when we go on the road in the ACC, I don't care who you play. This is the same team that beat NC State and our guys were aware of that, so to come out with a win was great and we will move on to a big challenge on Saturday."

Regarding upcoming games...
"I was only worried about Wake Forest. You can look at the stretch of games and analyze the schedule, but the only thing I am going to do is focus on beating North Carolina, which is not an easy task."

On ball movement during game...
"I felt like no matter if Wake was in zone or man, our team was doing a great job of moving the ball and taking shots when they were open. Inside out we really took care of the ball with five turn overs in the first half, and when you do that on the road you put yourself in a position to win. I tell our team all the time, when we go on the road, we must be the same team we are in the practice gym. Good teams do that, and I thought that's who we were the first thirty minutes of the game."

Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning

Opening Statement...
"It was definitely not the way we wanted to start out the game. I burned an early timeout -- I thought early in the game, they missed some shots and we didn't go out and secure a rebound. I want to say it was four offensive rebounds they got which gave them some momentum and some juice to get out of the gates really quickly and create some separation from us. We tried to right that with that early timeout after they delivered the first blow but we didn't recover just to be honest with you. From there we have to do a better job of -- we start scoring points -- we had 10 points at that point and time of the game, those points came as a direct result of paint touches of some sort. Dribbling the ball to the paint or passing the ball to the paint. Those are things that we try to emphasize and want to happen a majority of the time -- having more paint touches than our opponents. We believe that gives us the best chance at being successful on the offensive end."

On how well prepared his team was tonight...
"I thought we couple good days of practice going into it. I don't like the way we started the game, not getting those rebounds or not finishing the plays defensively put us in a bad spot."

On making substitutions deep into his bench in the second half...
"I wanted guys out there that were just going to battle. The score was what it was so we wanted to try something different -- and that was the mindset. I thought [Aaron] Spivey came in and gave us some good energy. I thought Sunday [Okeke] was good. Those guys rebounded the ball fairly decent. As a whole, we didn't hit our numbers at all -- as a team or individuals, defensively. Spivey was able to get three [rebounds], Sunday was able to get three and Michael [Wynn] was able to get four so I thought that showed a little bit of life from them in that aspect."

On what can be better moving forward to consistently compete against the top programs...
"I've got to do a better job. We all have to do a better job. It's everybody. Obviously I'm the head coach and it starts with me but when we go into the games we have an understanding of what the teams are going to do. We have to go out there and do a better job of executing. When you're trying to execute, you're trying to win each possession and we're not doing that right now -- we didn't do that tonight. We want to win every possession on the defensive end and offensive end and that means doing what you're supposed to do to help your team be successful."
Wake Forest players

Chaundee Brown
On why they never got into a rythym….
"We came out flat. Coach Woodberry told us that we didn't have energy going into the game, and he was right. We weren't pumped up like we usually are. They punched us in the mouth and we had no response."

Jaylen Hoard
On if they felt they came out flat…
"We came out very flat. (Louisville) came out aggressive like any team is supposed to. We won't win games like that."

On when things will be fixed…
"We don't want to keep losing, and we don't lose on purpose. Our play has to be fixed immediately because we don't have time. We can't always control shots going in, but we can control our effort and defensive mindset. Playing defense will fix most of our problems."
