Wake Forest is ranked No. 17 in their preseason poll, while Chris Lanzilli and Bobby Seymour were named preseason All-Americans.
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Wake Forest was recognized in Collegiate Baseball's preseason coverage with a No. 17 national ranking and a pair of preseason All-Americans.
Chris Lanzilli was picked as a first team honoree in the outfield, while Bobby Seymour was named a second team selection at first base.
Wake Forest is one of six ACC teams in the top 25, joined by No. 1 Louisville, No. 4 Miami, No. 13 North Carolina, No. 15 Florida State and No. 16 NC State.
Lanzilli earns first team honors after hitting .347 with 19 doubles, 16 homers and 67 RBIs. He was a second team All-American following the 2019 season.
Seymour, the reigning ACC Player of the Year, was picked to the second team. He batted .377 with 20 doubles, nine homers and an NCAA-best 92 RBIs a season ago, also earning All-American honors.
The Deacs receive a preseason top-25 ranking for the second straight year, as they entered last year at No. 20 in the country.
"Bobby and Chris will combine to be one of the best one-two punches offensively in the country this spring," head coach Tom Walter said. "These preseason rankings are a testament to the talent we have coming back this year and we're excited to get back onto the practice field."
