The Matchup
• No. 4 seed Wake Forest is set for its NCAA Championship quarterfinal matchup against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 5 p.m. on ACCNX. The Demon Deacons are in search of their sixth College Cup appearance and first since 2016.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons scored three second-half goals to defeat No. 13 seed Michigan, 3-1, in the third round of the NCAA Championship.
• Kyle Holcomb scored his eighth and ninth goals of the season to lead the Deacs to the win. He has tallied four goals in his last four games.
• Bruno Lapa scored his sixth game-winner of the season on a penalty kick in the 70th minute. In goal, Andrew Pannenberg made five saves to preserve the victory.

• Midfielder Bruno Lapa was named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy for the second-straight year. In his career, he has 59 points (18th all-time) on 22 goals (16th all-time) and 15 assists.

• Wake Forest is 1-0-1 all-time against UC Santa Barbara. The Deacs earned a 6-2 win in 2008, while UCSB advanced past the Deacs in penalty kicks in the semifinals of the 2006 College Cup.
• The Gauchos enter with a 15-4-4 overall record. Their only loss since the start of November came in the Big West Tournament final to UC Davis.
