TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Wake Forest men's golf team began its spring schedule Saturday with the first two round of the Seminole Intercollegiate. The Demon Deacons shot 6-under during the first round at Golden Eagle Country Club and even par in the second round to finish the day in fourth place at 6-under.

Jacksonville is the 36-hole leader at 12-under, followed by Louisville and West Virginia at 7-under and the Deacs at 6-under.

"We played very well as a group, but didn't make a lot of putts," said head coach Jerry Haas. "Hopefully we will make them all tomorrow. It was kind of what you except in the first event of the spring, but it was good effort by all six guys."

Parker Gillam led the Deacs during the first day, shooting a 1-under 71 in the first round and a 4-under 68 in the second round. At 5-under, he is T-4th on the individual leaderboard through 36 holes. Eric Bae is also in the top 10, T-6th at 3-under, after posting rounds of 68 and 73.

Eugenio Chacarra and Lee Detmer each finished Saturday at 1-over for the tournament. Kengo Aoshima rounded out the lineup at 6-over, while Alex Fitzpatrick is at 3-over while playing as an individual.

The Seminole Intercollegiate concludes Sunday with the final round at the Golden Eagle Country Club.
