On the game...

"First and foremost congrats to Wake, they made some tough plays down the stretch especially rebounding the basketball. (Jaylen) Hoard had a monster game on the boards, Brown hit some big shots for them, and Childress was a calm and steady influence for them throughout the game, and the kid (Olivier) Sarr had some big shots for them. Heartbreaking loss, I thought we got off to a good start in the first half and then we went into a spell where we couldn't score. But I thought our defense in the first half was pretty good, but we did not get off to a good start in the second half. We dug ourselves a hole, but I was proud on how we fought and put ourselves in a position at the end of regulation where we had an opportunity. But we couldn't get that one stop and we couldn't get that rebound. They made a big time play, scored it, so congrats to them."

On looking forward through the season...
"You go back to work, you teach. You work, that's all I know is to work. I don't know of some magic trick. We've had moments when we were good, we even had moments in this game where we were good, we just have to do it for 40 minutes. Tonight it required 45 and it just didn't happen for us. Our inability to rebound, we had 18 offensive boards and our two biggest guys had 1 offensive rebound between them. That's difficult, we have to understand the importance of every play, of everything and every play and we have to work on that."

What happened on the final play of regulation...
"We just didn't rebound. We didn't rebound. We forced a very tough shot, a long shot, and I have to watch the tape but if I'm a betting man I bet we stood and watched instead of going to pursue the ball. I think the ball when right to Hoard, the guy who scored it. We have to pursue it, we have to finish plays and have to play every play throughout and we have to learn that. That's the difference between winning and losing and for us it's a very fine line. So I've said it from the beginning, we have to master the little things and we haven't quite down that yet and have to keep working to develop those habits to do that."

Opening Statement...
I thought the game this evening was a very hard fought game by both teams. I thought both teams were in situations where things didn't go either team's way and you could have pouted a little bit. I thought both teams just continued to compete and battle. I'm very happy and proud of the resiliency a lot of our guys showed -- whether it was thinking next play based upon what happened on the previous play. Whether we missed a shot or we turned the ball over -- I thought our guys continued to battle and that mindset and aggressiveness gave us the opportunity to win the ball game. I thought we rebounded the ball very well. If you look particularly at Jaylen Hoard -- he had 17 and that was a tremendous offensive put-back at the end of the game to give us life. I thought a lot of different guys played well for us in terms of making shots. Brandon [Childress] was four of seven from three, [Sharone Wright] knocked down a couple threes and I thought Chaundee [Brown] made some plays for us down the stretch.

On the shooting performance of his team today...
"You've got to be ready to shoot on the catch. You can't control if the ball goes in or not, you can control your mechanics and that's it. You got to jump up there and knock down shots and I say you have to knock down shots because you have to score points to win the game as well. But as a basketball player you're not going to make all of the shots you take but you still got to know that when you're open you have to be ready to shoot. I thought there times tonight when guys turned down shots because they were missing earlier -- Brandon in particular early in the ball game. We want our guys to stay aggressive and shot-ready on the catch and be aggressive and look at the basket, look for your teammates and try to make the game easier for someone on your team."

On fouling when leading by three points at the end of OT...
"I didn't want to do it at first but I didn't like the matchups when [Xavier Johnson] was pushing the ball up the court. I watched him play AAU ball. He's a tough competitor. That dude gets downhill and gets to the rim really really well. He had a live ball and Brandon was kind of back pedaling and I yelled at Brandon to take one."

On Chaundee Brown's performance in OT...
"Chaundee -- when you look at his stat line, 18 points, four rebounds, four assists -- one of the better overall games he's had this year. He did some good things for us. He was resilient. We always talk about next play for our guys. Something happens good or bad, you have to focus on the next play -- he did a good job of that."

On putting things together down the stretch in regulation and overtime...
"It just shows growth. We fought through, that was the biggest thing. We shot like 27 percent in the first half and 54 percent in the second half. That improvement comes from taking better shots and moving the ball around."

On the shooting success in overtime…
"We just had to play with confidence. We have been going through a little slump, so seeing the ball go in helps out a lot. We will continue to work and keep moving forward. It's time to watch film, lock-in, and get ready for Florida State."

Jaylen Hoard
On rebound and put back to tie the game at the end of regulation…
"I saw the shot and felt like the defender tipped it. I knew the ball wasn't going in, so I tracked it and put the ball in the rim. I didn't want to lose this game today. I felt like this was a game that we had to win, and we won it."

On the momentum they carried into overtime…
"It was great. We needed multiple guys to step up. Chaudee (Brown) had some big shots, and Olivier (Sarr) had a big shot. Everyone contributed in a big way on offense or defense. Sharone (Wright Jr.) had a big performance and got hot, so that was good. It was fun to play in this game today."

On how it feels to help the team with personal contributions…
"It feels good; you don't want to be one-dimensional and only play well on offense or defense. Earlier in the season, I talked about my desire to be versatile, so I try to do that as much as I can for the team."
