Lanzilli Earns Player of the Week Honors

Wake Forest sophomore Chris Lanzilli was recognized by the ACC and Collegiate Baseball as a Player of the Week.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore Chris Lanzilli earned a trio of weekly honors for his performances for the week of March 11-17.
The ACC recognized Lanzilli as the Player of the Week, while he was also selected by Collegiate Baseball as one of eight National Players of the Week.
In addition, he is one of four nominees for USA Baseball's Golden Spikes Award/D1Baseball.comPerformance of the Week for his effort on Sunday. Fans can vote for him on Twitter by clicking HERE.
Over the week, Lanzilli batted .444 (8-for-18) with three home runs, three doubles, 16 RBIs, two walks and a stolen base.
That week was capped off with a record-breaking performance on Sunday. In a 13-3 win over Boston College, Lanzilli homered twice and set a new program record with 10 RBIs. He hit a grand slam, three-run homer, two-run single and RBI groundout to account for 10 of Wake Forest's 13 runs.
This season, he leads the ACC and ranks second in the country with 31 RBIs. He also leads the league with 10 doubles and ranks tied for third with six longballs.
