Shuster Receives Weekly Accolades

Jared Shuster went 2-0 with 23 strikeouts last week, earning ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week and National Player of the Week honors.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomore Jared Shuster repeated as ACC Co-Pitcher of the Week and a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week, the organizations announced Monday.
Shuster also received both of those honors following the opening weekend of play.
He started twice last week, first earning the win at Elon on Monday with 11 strikeouts.
Shuster followed that effort with 7.0 shutout innings against Furman on Sunday, striking out a career-high 12 batters while allowing just one hit.
The New Bedford, Massachusetts native leads the ACC and ranks second in the nation with 34 strikeouts. He also ranks tied for second nationally with three wins and fifth nationally with 17.0 strikeouts per nine innings.
