AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Wake Forest men's golf team posted its fourth win in its last five starts by completing a victory at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational on Sunday. The Deacs shot 7-under during the final round at Forest Hills Golf Club to finish at 36-under, the fourth-lowest 54-hole total in program history.

The No. 3 Demon Deacons finished three shots ahead of No. 19 South Carolina, which was the runner-up at 33-under. No. 7 Texas finished third at 30-under.

Cameron Young recorded his fourth career win and his second of the season, taking the individual crown at 19-under after a final-round 69. His 19-under score is the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history after Chris Kite's school-record 21-under at the 1986 Chris Schenkel Invitational.

"I thought we would play well here, especially as we have been shooting a lot of low scores lately," said head coach Jerry Haas. "I knew it would take a really low score to win it. I am very proud of the guys and they hit some very good shots down the stretch. Cameron had a great tournament and it was nice to get the double win."

Young was joined by two other Demon Deacons in the individual top 10. Eugenio Chacarra and Lee Detmer T-10th at 5-under for the tournament after final rounds of 72 and 70, respectively. Alex Fitzpatrick shot even par 72 to finish T-16th at 3-under, while Eric Bae shot a final round 70 to finish at 1-under.

With four team victories on the season, the Demon Deacons have reached that mark for the third time in the Jerry Haas era (2002-03, 2015-16). It is the first time Wake Forest has had three wins in the spring since 1983-84. The 36-under total at the event was the ninth time the Deacons have been at least 30-under par, with seven of those tournaments coming in the last five seasons.

Young's victory was the fourth individual win of the season for Wake Forest, the most by the Demon Deacons since six individual victories in 2003-04.

The Deacs conclude their regular season schedule next week at the Stitch Intercollegiate. The tournament is Friday-Saturday at MacGregor Downs Golf Club in Cary, N.C.
