GREENSBORO, N.C. – Wake Forest sophomore Emilia Migliaccio was named the ACC Women's Golf Player of the Month for April, the conference announced Friday (May 3).
In the Demon Deacons' only tournament of the month, Migliaccio led Wake Forest to the ACC Championship, capturing medalist honors at the event. Migliaccio became the eighth Demon Deacon to win the ACC individual title, shooting a final round 68 to finish at 11-under. Her 11-under par total was the lowest 54-hole score at Sedgefield Country Club in the nine ACC Championships held at the course.
The victory at the ACC Championship was Migliaccio's third victory of the season and the fourth of her career. She has a 70.88 stroke average this season and is currently ranked No. 2 nationally in the GolfWeek individual rankings.
The award was the first of Migliaccio's career and the second for a Demon Deacon this season. Jennifer Kupcho was ACC Co-Player of the Month in March as Wake Forest had two honorees in a season for the first time in program history.
Wake Forest returns to action May 6-8 in Oklahoma at the NCAA Norman Regional. The Demon Deacons are the No. 2 seed at the tournament where the top six finishers will advance to the NCAA Championships later this month in Fayetteville, Ark.
