Bobby Seymour (1st team) and Chris Lanzilli (3rd team) were both recognized by Collegiate Baseball.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest sophomores Bobby Seymour and Chris Lanzilli were selected as All-Americans by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper on Thursday.
Seymour was picked as a first team first baseman, while Lanzilli was a third team honoree in the outfield.
"Bobby and Chris set the bar for work ethic and dedication to their craft," head coach Tom Walter said. "For them to be recognized at the highest level of our game is a testament to that commitment. We are very proud of both of them."
They become the 33rd and 34th different All-Americans for Wake Forest, and those 34 have been recognized 43 times. Both earn All-America honors for the first time after being named Freshman All-Americans a season ago. Stuart Fairchild, Ben Breazeale and Gavin Sheets were the last three Deacs to be named All-Americans in 2017.
Seymour leads the country with 92 RBIs, a total which is the most in NCAA Division I since Buster Posey had 93 in 2008, and is just two off the program record of 94. He also leads the ACC with a .377 batting average and 89 hits to go along with 20 doubles and nine home runs.
Lanzilli ranks in the top 30 nationally in home runs (16), RBIs (67), hits (85) and total bases (152), also ranking in the top 10 of the ACC with a .347 average, 19 doubles, and .620 slugging percentage.
