Volleyball Announces 2019 Schedule

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Wake Forest interim head volleyball coach Randi Smart announced the team's 2019 fall schedule on Thursday (June 20). The schedule features four tournaments and 12 matches inside Reynolds Gymnasium.
The fall slate features two shared home tournaments, kicking off with the Spartan- Demon Deacon Classic in conjunction with UNCG. The Deacs will open the season against Presbyterian on Aug. 30 and will also host North Carolina Central and UNCG (Aug. 31) in the debut tournament.
The Deacs will hit the road for the North Florida Tournament, where they will face Mercer and East Carolina on Sept. 6, and round out the tournament against host team North Florida on Sept. 7.
In its final home tournament of the season, Wake Forest will host Furman (Sept. 14) and Elon (Sept. 15).
The Demon Deacons will travel to Fairfax, Va., for their final tournament of the year, facing host George Mason (Sept. 20), William & Mary and Seton Hall (Sept. 21).
ACC action gets underway in Reynolds Gymnasium as Wake welcomes Miami (Sept. 27) and Florida State (Sept. 29). In the first weekend of October, the Demon Deacons will travel north to Syracuse (Oct. 4) and Boston College (Oct. 6), before hosting Notre Dame (Oct. 11) and Louisville (Oct. 13) in Winston-Salem.
The Deacs will take on five of their next six opponents on the road, starting with a three-match road swing at Georgia Tech (Oct. 18), Clemson (Oct. 20) and a Wednesday night matchup against in-state foe Duke (Oct. 23). Wake will return to Reynolds Gymnasium for a Sunday night meeting against Virginia Tech (Oct. 27), before heading to Pitt (Nov. 1) and Virginia (Nov. 3).
NC State and North Carolina will make the short trips to Winston-Salem on Nov. 8 and Nov. 10, respectively. The Deacs will round out their home slate, as they welcome Virginia (Nov. 15) and Boston College (Nov. 17).
Wake will close the season on the road against Virginia Tech (Nov. 24) and North Carolina (Nov. 27).
This season, the ACC Network will cover 20 volleyball matches across the league. the Wednesday night matchup between Duke and Wake Forest will be streamed by the network. Additional games slated for ACC Network Extra, ACCN's digital platform available on the ESPN App, will be announced at a later date. Carriage agreements are already in place with the following video providers: Altice, DIRECTV, Google Fiber, Hulu Live TV, Optimum, PlayStation Vue, Suddenlink, TVision and Verizon Fios, among others.
