Patrick Frick, Morgan McSweeney, Carter Bach and Chris Lanzilli were all selected on the final day.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Four more Demon Deacons were selected on the final day of the 2019 MLB Draft on Wednesday.

Patrick Frick was drafted with the No. 426 overall pick in the 14th round by the Seattle Mariners. Morgan McSweeney was picked No. 498 overall in the 17th round by the Baltimore Orioles. The Tampa Bay Rays took Carter Bach at No. 1028 overall in the 34th round. Chris Lanzilli was the final Deacon taken in the 39th round with the No. 1116 pick by the San Francisco Giants.

"We're extremely proud of all five of our draftees for earning the opportunity to potentially play professional baseball," head coach Tom Walter said. "The hours they put in both on and off the field warrant that chance. We're also hopeful that our three seniors, Logan Harvey, Jake Mueller and Bruce Steel, will receive the chance to sign free-agent contracts, as they're certainly deserving as well."

Frick, who served as Wake Forest's shortstop, became the first Deacon picked by the Mariners since 1986. The junior ranked among the ACC's leaders with a .360 average, also totaling 14 doubles, four homers, 38 RBIs and seven stolen bases. He drew 38 walks while only striking out 24 times.

A two-year member of the weekend rotation, McSweeney has a career mark of 10-10 with a 5.24 ERA. He has fanned 154 batters in 159.2 innings. His best season to date came as a freshman reliever, when he went 5-1 with a 3.50 ERA, along with 48 strikeouts in 36.0 innings.

Bach had a strong conclusion to his junior season, conceding just one run over his final 10 outings. He finished the year 1-0 with a 4.70 ERA, striking out 21 in 15.1 frames. In his career, he struck out more than a batter per inning - 68 strikeouts in 61.1 innings.

Lanzilli, a draft-eligible sophomore, had an All-American campaign in his second year in Winston-Salem. He batted .347 with 19 doubles, 16 homers and 67 RBIs, each mark ranking in the top 10 in the ACC.

One incoming freshman was also selected: the Boston Red Sox chose Blake Loubier in the 13th round.

All six draftees have until next month to determine whether to sign a pro contract.
