AUSTIN, Texas- Danielle Konopelski completed the final event for the Deacons at the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship in the women's javelin throw final on Friday afternoon. The event was originally scheduled for Thursday evening but was postponed due to inclement weather.
She finished 19th overall at the NCAA Championships. Konopelski's best throw came in her second attempt, with a distance of 45.21m.
"Dani had a great competition today," assistant coach Collin Post said. "She injured her elbow at the regional meet in Jacksonville, but she went out there and gave it her all despite the pain. It was a gutsy effort and we are all very proud of her."
Konopelski qualified for the NCAA Championships with a personal best throw of 49.50 to finish 12th at the East Region Preliminaries last month.
