Wake Signee, Jewel Spear, Named McDonald’s All-American Nominee

Earlier this season, the consensus top-100 prospect surpassed 2,500 career points as The Colony High School
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's basketball signee Jewel Spear was named as a McDonald's All-American nominee, announced earlier this week.
The Demon Deacons 2020 signee is ranked as the No. 88 prospect in the country by ESPN HoopGurlz as well as the No. 61 rated player nationally by ASGR.
Earlier this season, Spear surpassed 2,500 career points at The Colony High School and as a junior set the Dallas-Fort Worth area record for three-point field goals in a season.
Spear averaged 24 points and 6.2 rebounds per game with 116 three-pointers during the 2018-19 season. It helped her earn District 8-5A MVP honors while leading The Colony to the 5A state semifinals. She was also an all-region and all-state selection as a junior.
