The Matchup

The No. 1 ranked Demon Deacons travel to Clemson to take on the No. 3 ranked Tigers for a 7 p.m. start on Tuesday.
The matchup will be the first between the sides, with Wake Forest hosting the Tigers later this month (Oct. 30) in the team's final home game of the fall season.
The Demon Deacons enter the matchup coming off a 3-0 shutout victory against UAB, improving their record to 3-0-0 for the fourth consecutive year in the process.
This will be the 49th matchup between the ACC rivals, with the Demon Deacons having a 23-18-7 record against the Tigers.
Wake Forest has won the last five meetings between the two schools dating back to a 3-1 victory on Nov. 13, 2016.
Clemson was ranked in the top-six in four of those five meetings.

Last Time Out

On a rainy night, the Demon Deacons won 3-0 against UAB, tallying their third win of the season, led by a brace by sophomore forward David Wrona.
Freshman spark plug Colin Thomas provided the assist for Wrona's first goal, minutes before the Alabama native tallied a second goal off a UAB miscue.
Sophomore Calvin Harris added the third goal in the 65th minute with a great left-footed effort from just outside the 18-yard box.
The game completed Wake Forest's games against non-conference opponents in 2020.
Wake Forest is now 3-0-0 against UAB, winning the first matchup between the two sides since 1996.

In their last outing, the Tigers suffered a last second 1-0 defeat to North Carolina, who the Demon Deacons will play on Sunday.
In their first three games of the season, Clemson has outscored its opponents 5-1, having not conceded a goal until North Carolina's score with no time remaining in regulation.
In 2019 the Tigers went 18-2-2 overall and 6-1-1, losing to Wake Forest 3-2 in a regular season overtime thriller at Spry.
