What They Are Saying...

Annette Medalie

Associate Athletic Director for Finance, Wake Forest University:

  • "I am excited and honored to become a member of the Wake Forest University staff. Before I officially move on, I want to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude to Janet Cone and the entire UNC Asheville Athletics team for their support. With that, I want to thank the members of the search committee, especially Randy Casstevens and John Currie, for providing me with this opportunity. Wake Forest's culture and the values of the institution are very impressive and I look forward to working with such an accomplished and talented team."

John Currie

Director of Athletics, Wake Forest University:

  • "We are thrilled to welcome Annette to Wake Forest. Annette brings a proven athletics financial background and a reputation as a collaborative problem-solver. Her colleagues at her previous institutions spoke of the immediate impact she will have towards our goal of a World Class Student-Athlete Experience.  I appreciate the leadership of Sr. Assoc. AD Randy Casstevens in attracting a tremendous group of candidates for this position and landing our top choice in Annette."

Janet R. Cone

Director of Athletics, UNC Asheville:

  • "Speaking on behalf of the entire UNC Asheville athletics department, we want to thank Annette for her dedication and efforts to improve our Budget and Finance Operations. She implemented many cost efficiencies and processes that helped to improve our day to day business and finance operations, worked very closely with our coaches and staff, and collaborated with multiple internal and external constituents. She will be missed by her Bulldog colleagues and friends.  We wish nothing but continued success for Annette as she begins a new journey at Wake Forest University."

Brenda Brown

  • "Annette Medalie was a tremendous asset to our athletic department and truly a pleasure to work with at UNC Asheville. She has impeccable work ethic and efficiency in executing her job and I always appreciate her professionalism and consistent communication. She is the consummate team player and willing to pitch in outside of her scope of responsibilities at any given time to make sure the overall task is done well. I am ecstatic that Wake Forest is getting such a talent in her field but also a wonderful and caring individual who will contribute greatly to the healthy and robust work culture that is established within the athletic department."

Dr. Jim Riordan

Director of MBA Sport Program, Florida Atlantic University:

  • "Shortly after her arrival in Boca Raton to become a member of our program,  it was clear and obvious that Annette Medallie had the academic and applied skills needed to be a leader not only in sports business but in all types of business. Annette was always looking to better herself both in and out of the classroom, as evident by her consistent involvement in experiential learning activities as well as a stellar academic portfolio. Annette has the unique ability to combine the quantitative-based requisite of an accounting/finance professional with an engaging demeanor and master of the soft-skills set which in turn makes for a superior leader as well as a developer of future leaders."
