Clemson Head Coach Brad Bronwell
Opening Statement...
"Congratulations to Danny [Manning] and Wake Forest. I thought they just out-played us and out-coached us tonight. We played well enough defensively in the game to give ourselves chances and I thought that we did a lot of good things. We probably guarded them better this game than in Clemson but we really struggled against the zone. They did a good job, made a couple of adjustments from game one. I thought we got some very good looks against the zone in the first ten minutes of the game and really did not have anything to show for it. The longer the game went, for whatever reason, I thought we took some quick shots. I thought we passed the ball very poorly tonight, so when we had some opportunities and guys were open, we threw it behind them, we threw it at their feet, we didn't really help each other in the game very well. I don't think we did a good job of that and again credit to Danny and his kids for causing a lot of those issues. They just played better than we did."
On the shooting this game...
"We've had a couple rough shooting games. This isn't the only one. December was not a good shooting month for us, we did better in January. Hopefully, this isn't some foreshadowing for February. We have to really work to score, but don't have some dynamic guy that can bail us out at the end of the clock. Our team is an execution team and if we aren't executing well and working together, we struggle. I thought we did some good things in portions of the game to give ourselves opportunities and then there were some times we did not. I thought we got a little frustrated. I thought we shot a couple balls too quickly and never made the defense move. We didn't make them shift enough and some of that is that when you get behind, it's hard to remain calm and it's hard to be poised and go to your execution. We just didn't do it."
On Wake's 14-0 run to start the second half...
"I mean we continued to play poorly on offense and eventually they made a couple plays. We did a pretty good job, you know Wake Forest has some pretty good players. They have good young players, Danny has done a good job. These jobs are hard and when you have guys that leave and go early for the NBA, it just sets your program back a year or two unless you're one of the schools that can get these guys every year. I dealt with it one time with KJ McDaniel and it probably hurt us for two years. Their young guys are getting better, they can score, they got a lot of guys that can score. I thought we did a good job at guarding them for a while and then eventually they started making shots. We did a great job on Childress. Olivier Sarr is a problem. Massoud is a guy that is dangerous coming off the bench and obviously White had a good game, making four threes. Eventually, we knew they were going to make some baskets and score a little bit and we had to do the same and we just could not do it."

On Andrien White's big 2nd half...
"If you're a shooter you believe in it. He was going to get cussed out if he didn't shoot open shots because that's what hes out there to do. You can't be afraid to miss and that's what we tell all of our guys when your open and in your range. We've seen you put in the work be ready to shoot on the catch. His second half was really good for us it sparked us and gave us some energy."
On Chaundee Brown's return...
"Whenever you get one of your better players back it brings a boost. Chaundee comes in and give us 6 points and gives us a presence. The shot he made on their end when he flashed to the free throw line area his turnaround jump shot looked every smooth and that's the Chaundee we like to see. We tried to run a play for him at the end, he got sped up and ran a guy over. That's to be expected, he was excited to be out there and we were certainly happy to have him. His contribution was huge for us and we'll continue to add minutes to him as the doctors see fit."
On good 2nd half start...
"We wanted to make sure we had good ball movement. I thought we got the ball to Olivier (Sarr) and he missed some shots he normally makes. Andrien he made a couple shots. At this point everybody knows our plays and he just makes a vet move and fakes backdoor and gets a wide open 3 in front of our bench. I thought Isaiah did some really good things for us with 8 rebounds. So I thought it was a really good overall team effort."
