MEPPEN, Germany – Wake Forest women's soccer player Vicky Krug has signed her first professional contract with German club SV Meppen Frauen.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the senior defender from Drebkau, Germany, will be finishing her final semester has a Demon Deacon online at home in Germany. She will graduate with her degree in computer science and communication in December. Krug started every single game in her Wake Forest career.
"We will miss Vicky's leadership and passion in our defense this fall," head coach Tony da Luz said. "We are incredibly proud of the way she represented our program as a consummate student-athlete. Vicky has worked for this professional opportunity all her life and I am happy that she has reached her dream of signing a professional contract. We wish her the best this season and in her career."
This will not be Krug's first time representing Germany on the pitch, as she was a member of the U15 German National Team for three seasons and the U17 team for one season. She was also a member of the U19 National Team for one season.
