
Ryan Cusick Named Coastal Plain League Pitcher of the Year

The rising junior struck out 40 batters and allowed just three runs as the HiToms were CPL Mid-Atlantic Region champions.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest baseball pitcher Ryan Cusick has been named Coastal Plain League Pitcher of the Year, the league announced Thursday.
Cusick spent the summer with the High Point-Thomasville HiToms, where he finished with a 1.14 ERA and a 0.53 WHIP over the course of five starts. Cusick headlined a pitching staff that helped lead the HiToms to a CPL Mid-Atlantic Region Championship.
The Sudbury, Mass., native led the CPL in strikeouts (40) while surrendering just nine walks. Additionally, Cusick allowed just 12 hits and three earned runs in 23 2/3 innings pitched. Opponents were only able to muster a .114 batting average against Cusick as well.
Through two seasons with the Demon Deacons, Cusick has appeared in 23 games with 16 starts. He won a team-best seven outings during his freshman season while going 4-0 in ACC play.
