The Demon Deacons limited the Blue Devils to just three shots on goal.
DURHAM, N.C. -- Wake Forest and Duke played to a double-overtime scoreless draw at Koskinen Stadium on Sunday night.
Less than two weeks after combining for seven goals, the Demon Deacons (0-2-1, 0-1-1 ACC) and Blue Devils (1-0-2, 0-0-2 ACC) totaled 17 shots in the 110 minutes of game action.
"We came to Duke to earn points with a defensive approach and put ourselves in position to win," head coach Tony da Luz said. "It was an impressive defensive performance and we're improving as a team. I'm proud of our kids for bouncing back from a tough game Thursday."
Madison Howard started in goal and stopped the only shot on goal she faced, while Mia Raben played the final 65 minutes and recorded two saves as the goalkeeping duo combined for the shutout.
Wake Forest had the best scoring chance of either side in the 89th minute when Sofia Rossi drew a foul in the box. Ryanne Brown's penalty kick was stifled by a diving save.
The Deacs' next game is slated for Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. against Miami on ACCNX.
