Returning No. 1 and No. 2 in Carolyn Campana and Eliza Omirou ranked in preseason ITA rankings.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's tennis players Carolyn Campana and Eliza Omirou were ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association in the initial singles and doubles rankings on Wednesday afternoon.
Campana will start the season at No. 21 in the ITA rankings after a breakout season as a sophomore. She played nearly the entire spring schedule as the Demon Deacons No. 1 singles player.
Joining her in the top 100 on the list is Omirou, who played much of last season in the No. 2 spot behind Campana. She will begin the season at No. 98 in the ITA rankings.
Omirou is coming off a season where she earned All-America status in doubles along with her former partner MC Meredith. The duo rose into the top 10 last season before the season came to a close in March.
The first team rankings of the season will be released by the ITA on Thursday. Last season, the Deacs finished as the No. 16 team in the country.
