Wake Forest heads into the 2021 campaign as the 17th-best team in the publication's top 25.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Wake Forest baseball will open the 2021 season ranked No. 17 in D1 Baseball's Preseason Top 25.

The Deacs return almost all of their roster that ended the shortened 2020 season with a record of 10-8 after being slotted at No. 18 in last year's preseason rankings. Additionally, the program adds a solid set of freshmen to the mix as their incoming class was No. 19 in D1 Baseball's 2021 newcomer rankings.

"On paper, this club looks even better than the 2017 Wake Forest club that hosted a regional and pushed eventual national champion Florida to the brink in supers," said D1 Baseball's Aaron Fitt in their breakdown of the 2021 Demon Deacons. "The Deacs have legitimate Omaha potential; now they just need to harness that potential and put it all together in the spring."

Wake Forest will get back into game action with five non-conference contests, beginning with a three-game set at David F. Couch Ballpark against Northeastern on Feb. 19-21. The complete 2021 schedule can be found here
