Deacs Best in Field on Day Two of Arizona Intercollegiate

Four Deacs sit inside the top 15 after the first two rounds.
Tucson, Ariz. - The Wake Forest men's golf team shot a field-best score of 14-under 270 and hold the second spot on the leaderboard heading into the final round.
The Deacs were powered by freshman Michael Brennan, who shot a field-best 64 in his second round. Junior Alex Fitzpatrick was right behind him with the second-lowest scorecard in the field for day two, finishing with a 66. Brennan is T3 heading into the final day and Fitzpatrick is one stroke back T6.
Brennan was the lone Deac with a bogey-free round and Fitzpatrick had six birdies and an eagle on 13 to counter two bogeys on his first nine holes of the day. All five Deacs playing in the lineup shot under par in the second round. Sophomore Mark Power and Eric Bae are T13 after both carding a 70 in the second round.
The final round will be a shotgun start at 11:00 ET. Alex Fitzpatrick and Mark Power will lead the field going off hole 1. Eric Bae and Parker Gillam will be right behind them in the second group off the first hole. Michael Brennan will go off the second hole. Fulton Smith and Marco Steyn will go off the 18th hole.
