WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest women's golf junior Rachel Kuehn has been named to the final fall watch list for the ANNIKA Award presented by Stifel.
Kuehn was also named to the initial watch list at the beginning of the fall season. She is one of just two ACC players to make the final fall list, along with Duke's Erica Shepherd.
Kuehn is coming off a record-breaking performance last weekend at the Ruth's Chris Tar Heel Invite in Chapel Hill. Kuehn shot a record-low 63 in the second round en route to the individual title. The Demon Deacons also took home the team title from the event by 10 strokes. Kuehn's 63 is the lowest 18-hole score in Wake Forest program history and is the lowest single-round score recorded at the Tar Heel Invite, which has been played since 1976. Her 54-hole score of 11-under 205 is the third-lowest score in tournament history.
Kuehn currently leads the Deacs with a 70.44 stroke average over nine rounds of fall play. She has finished inside the top 25 in every event so far, starting the year with a T25 finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, then cracking the top five for a second-place finish at the Bryan National Collegiate which was followed by her first-place finish at the Tar Heel Invite. The Deacs have finished inside the top three as team in every fall event so far, winning two of them back-to-back, the Bryan National and the Tar Heel Invite. Both events were double-digit win margins for Wake Forest.
The Demon Deacons will finish up the fall slate this weekend in Wilmington, North Carolina at the Landfall Tradition Oct. 29-31, hosted by UNC Wilmington. The Deacs are currently ranked No. 9 in the latest GolfStat rankings.
