WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest women's golfers Rachel Kuehn and Lauren Walsh have been named to the Preseason ANNIKA Award Watch List, presented by Stifel, heading into the start of their junior campaigns.
They were both also named to the Spring 2021 ANNIKA Award Watch List.
Fresh off a summer of international play that included the Arnold Palmer Cup, both are currently competing in the Curtis Cup in Conwy, Wales. They are also both currently ranked inside the top 25 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings (WAGR), with Walsh at 14 and Kuehn at 23.
The 2021 All-Americans ended last season as the top two Deacs on the squad, with team-low scoring averages of 72.27 for Kuehn and 72.41 for Walsh. Each also took home three top 10 finishes with Kuehn winning her second collegiate title at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in February. Kuehn was also the stroke play medalist at this summer's U.S. Women's Amateur and made her debut in the Augusta National Women's Amateur this spring.
Wake Forest was recently tabbed as the No. 2 team in the country, according to Golf Channel's preseason rankings. The Deacs will open their 2021-22 campaign September 13-15 at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, where Kuehn took home her first individual title and Wake Forest took the team title in 2019.
